The original Jaguar XJS, which had a controversial production run from 1975 to 1996, is making an eye-opening comeback, conceived by none other than TWR Performance. Plainly put, the original two-door was not pretty and had reliability issues. The entertainingly reinterpreted model, aptly named the ‘Supercat,' will employ a 600hp V12, a 6-speed manual gearbox and styling inspired by race cars. British engineering firm has revealed the outlandish reworking of the Jaguar XJS as its debut production model – complete with carbon fiber bodywork, and a supercharged V12. The first project to be unveiled by the Berkshire-based firm – a firm founded by Fergus Walkinshaw, the son of famed team boss and driver Tom Walkinshaw – sees the 50-year-old British coupé reimagined as a high-performance super-GT.
