a higher-than-expected demand for the company's recently launched automated insulin pump, Mobi. Based on a survey of 48 clinicians, Stifel analyst Mathew Blackman noted that the Mobi launch is off to a promising start, with early data suggesting a higher-than-anticipated demand. In February, Tandem ( TNDM ) launched Mobi, which it identified as the world's smallest durable automated insulin delivery system, and Blackman argues that the device is "resonating with physicians." According to the survey, 27% of new Mobi buyers were those who were using multiple daily injections (MDI) while 30% were using a Tandem ( TNDM ) product. The rest were switchers, including 29% and 8% of users who were on rival insulin pumps from Medtronic ( MDT ) and Insulet ( PODD ), respectively. Based on results from the survey, Blackman noted that "Mobi could meaningfully expand the TNDM US installed base," leading to new positive patient growth versus the company's "flat" guidance for 2024.
