“This season's New York sale celebrates the artistry and innovation that defines collectible jewelry to wear,” said Dianne Batista, head of Jewels, New York, SVP and senior specialist. Batista noted that highlights include Boucheron's antique diamond bow brooch, Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co.'s sapphire and diamond “Fleur de Mer” brooch, and a selection of Cartier Art Deco designs. “Complementing these are alluring diamonds and colored gemstones—from a large marquise-cut pink diamond to vivid Burma rubies, velvety Kashmir sapphires, and magnificent emeralds,” she added. Sapphires play a significant role in the sale, led by the top lot: a platinum ring set with a 5.40-carat unheated cushion-shaped Kashmir sapphire flanked by oval diamonds (top photo). It carries an estimate of $300,000–$500,000. Next is a platinum bracelet set with nine step-cut, mildly treated Colombian emeralds weighing a total of 36.69 carats, alternating with nine step-cut diamonds totaling 9.57 carat
