The move is the latest in a string of price hikes across the streaming industry in recent months. Watching shows on Netflix just got a bit more expensive. The streaming giant raised subscription prices for new customers as of Thursday, with the new rates set to take effect for current Netflix ( NFLX ) customers at their next billing cycle. Netflix's standard plan with ads, its lowest-cost plan, will now cost $1 more at $8.99 a month. The monthly rates for its standard and premium plans without ads are each rising $2 to $19.99 and $26.99, respectively, and the cost of adding another member to a plan is also $1 more at $6.99 per month.
