The multi-year agreement will see Phillips 66 produce the sustainable fuel at its Humber Refinery, and will begin powering a number of British Airways flights beginning next year, the companies said. The fuel will be delivered via existing pipeline infrastructure. Phillips 66 Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Phillips 66. "The Humber Refinery was the first in the U.K. to co-process waste oils to produce renewable fuels and now we will be the first to produce SAF at scale," said Humber Refinery General Manager Darren Cunningham. "We're currently refining almost half a million litres of sustainable waste feedstocks a day, and this is just a start," he added. British Airways said its parent company, International Airlines Group, is investing $400 million over the next 20 years to develop sustainable aviation fuel.
