Proteostasis announces positive early-stage data on PTI-801; investors unimpressed; shares down 36% after hoursMIcro cap Proteostasis Therapeutics (NYSE:PTI) is down36% after hours on robust volume in apparent response to the release ofPhase 1 data on CFTR corrector PTI-801.The trial was designed to assess the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of PTI-801 in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients on background Orkambi (lumacaftor/ivacaftor) therapy.48 CF patients completed the 14-day treatment period with three escalating doses of PTI-801 or placebo. Safety and pharmacokinetic results were as expected. At the higher doses, PTI-801 demonstrated statistically significant improvements in sweat chloride (SC) and body mass index (BMI) compared to placebo. The improvement in SC was comparable to the effect for Kalydeco (ivacaftor).Improvements in lung function, determined by a measure called ppFEV1, was observed across all three doses but the changes were not statistically significant.By the
