Carnival ( NYSE:CCL ) is starting to show how quickly a macro shock can flow through to earnings, as surging oil prices begin to reshape the outlook. The company cut its full-year profit guidance to about $2.21 per share, down from its prior December view of roughly $2.48 and below expectations of $2.35. The revision comes as crude markets tighten sharply, with both West Texas Intermediate and Brent rising more than 60% this year to their highest levels since 2022, following escalating conflict in the Middle East, strikes on energy assets, and a near halt of shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
