Summary Lancashire is likely to see more cat losses in the fourth quarter, but pricing has been firming up across the company's end-markets, with about 80% of its markets improving ytd. Stricter standards at Lloyds are leading some of Lancashire's rivals to pull out of markets it considers to be core (including energy, marine, and aviation), while reinsurance pricing should improve. Lancashire is not an easy stock for retail investors, but the shares appear priced for a high single-digit to low double-digit return, with significant dividends likely.
