RFI: A Well-Diversified Real Estate CEF Summary Real estate is a good way to protect your wealth and generate income at the same time. RFI is a well-diversified fund that has assets invested across all sub-sectors of the domestic real estate market. The fund does have high exposure to a few individual REITs. The yield is 7.26%, which is reasonable but not one of the highest yields among its peers. The fund usually trades at a slight premium to NAV. As some of my regular readers may know, one of my favorite asset classes to invest in is real estate. There are a few reasons for this including the fact that it is a hard asset with a finite supply, so it can help someone preserve their wealth, as well as the fact that one can derive a nice income stream by leasing it out.
