According to the suit , auto sears allow “anyone with $20-$25 to spare and a desire to circumvent long-standing federal and state prohibitions on possessing fully automatic machine guns” to do so in about five minutes with common household tools and instructions readily available online. Auto sears allow modified Glock handguns to fire at a rate of 1,200 rounds per minute—a rate higher than some fully automatic firearms used by the U.S. military.
