The company reaffirmed a one-year extension for its ultra-deepwater drillship Deepwater Asgard for work in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico with Hess at a $505K dayrate through June 2025. The Deepwater Asgard currently is on a dayrate of $440K while its previous dayrate was $395K; total contract value is ~$195M, including a $10.9M lump sum payment. Transocean ( RIG ) also secured a contract extension for the Deepwater Skyros drillship in Angola with TotalEnergies at a $400K dayrate through December 2025. The rig is currently fixed at a $310K dayrate until February 2025, when the first extension at an improved rate would begin.
