Rio Tinto Group and Amazon Web Services have agreed that AWS will be the first customer for Rio Tinto's low carbon copper produced using Nuton bioleaching technology. The partnership also includes AWS cloud support to help Rio Tinto refine and scale its Nuton process for copper extraction. The agreement links Rio Tinto's copper output directly to growing demand from AI and data center infrastructure. LSE:RIO is tying its mining operations more closely to the technology supply chain by supplying low carbon copper to AWS, with Nuton bioleaching at the center of the deal.
