Rivian Automotive (NasdaqGS:RIVN) has entered a partnership with Redwood Materials to deploy on-site battery energy storage at its manufacturing facility. The system will use second-life EV batteries from Rivian vehicles to support plant energy needs and grid reliability. This marks Rivian's first large-scale use of retired EV packs for stationary storage, creating a reuse model for its battery inventory.
