Others concentrate on debugging specialized computer components or gaze up at a wall of screens in the control room, monitoring the company's existing satellites as they circle the earth. In the middle of it all is Mina Mitry, Kepler's chief executive officer and co-founder, preparing to blast the first batch of the company's optical-satellites-slash-data-centres into orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base in southern California.
