Recent RWT note issuances reflect increasing market skepticism, as evidenced by rising coupons and declining Egan-Jones ratings from BBB to BBB-. Fixed rate notes provide higher payment surety, seniority over preferreds, and calculable YTM, but expose investors to reinvestment risk at maturity.
