Michael O'Leary said the UK was more exposed to the crisis than any other European country because of its heavy reliance on fuel from the Middle East. He said: “We can handle, we think, the pricing issue, but if there's a risk to 10 or 20pc of the fuel supply in June or July or August, then we and all other airlines will have to start looking at cancelling some flights or taking some capacity out.” Mr O'Leary said he had been given assurances that fuel supplies would be stable until mid-to-late May, but that they could start to dry up if the war in the Middle East drags into the summer. He said: “If this continues through to the end of April, we're looking at a risk to supplies in early June. If it runs into May, then we don't know what the f- - - goes on.” Mr O'Leary said he was holding daily calls with his fuel team and that Ryanair was reviewing its schedule on a weekly basis.
