Ryanair Holdings plc ( NASDAQ:RYAAY turned in a very mixed third quarter, with earnings coming in light even as travel demand and revenue stayed strong. The airline reported GAAP EPS of just $0.03, missing estimates by $0.07. Revenue told a better story, rising 8.4% from a year ago to $3.21 billion and beating expectations by about $30 million. Ryanair said demand held up well through the October school break and carried into the Christmas and New Year period, with a solid pickup in late bookings. Passenger traffic grew 6% to 47.5 million, helped by higher ticket prices. Average fares rose 4%, ancillary revenue edged up 1%, and revenue per passenger increased 3%.
