The company has experienced significant growth in assets but has also seen increases in total shares and a flat dividend per share. Concerns include the company's increased leverage, rising interest rates, and a focus on growth over return on equity. Sachem Capital Corp. ( NYSE: SACH ) is a mortgage REIT that primarily operates in Connecticut, but has been working to expand into other areas in the last few years. With a dividend yield of over 12%, SACH (like many divided investments) will likely appeal to income investors. Yet, there are imperfections with their strategy that, while not deadly, make me want to demand a higher yield than what is currently offered before I buy. While the yield is high, I still consider it a SELL, and I'll share my thoughts on why. Company History Sachem was formed as an LLC in 2010.
