Manufacturers are likely to start passing costs on to buyers through higher prices or by cutting costs on parts. So far, tariffs have had a relatively minor effect on vehicle prices, said one auto analyst, but they still cost major automakers billions in 2025, and many are expecting similar payouts in 2026.
