Oil slips to end nine-session win streak but climbs 8% for the week Crude oil prices fell today to snap a nine-session winning streak -1.9% -1.7% "A major bull-run is still far from formulating, and prices are still close to 30% lower than the recent highs in October,” says Schneider Electric commodity analyst Robbie Fraser, but for the near-term, "the OPEC+ cuts, the continuous drop in Iranian exports, and a weaker dollar could help support crude prices." Analysts at BofA Merrill Lynch think the Federal Reserve may help support oil prices later in the year: “An eventual shift in the U.S. monetary tightening path in the coming months could lead to a weaker dollar this year, a risk-on rally, and a major uplift in inflation assets like oil into the summer.
