But shifting government content controls and postpandemic Hollywood trends have made the region less of a player in the global box office landscape. That hasn't stopped studios from releasing titles in the region, with films like “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” “Michael,” “Mortal Kombat II” and “The Devil Wears Prada 2? expected to debut in China this year.
