He also resigned as a member of the company's board. Shoe Carnival's vice chairman of the board, Cliff Sifford, has been named interim president and CEO, according to a company press release. The company is conducting a search for a permanent successor. The shoe company did not immediately respond to questions regarding Worden's sudden exit, but did state that his departure was not due to a disagreement with the company on any matter relating to its operations, policies or practices, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
