SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass., Sept. 22, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sevcon, Inc. (Nasdaq:SEV), a world leader in the design and manufacture of controls and battery chargers for zero emission electric and hybrid vehicles, today announced that its stockholders overwhelmingly approved the proposed acquisition of Sevcon by BorgWarner Inc. at the Special Meeting of Stockholders held on September 22, 2017. Holders of more than 99% of Sevcon’s common stock present at the meeting voted in favor of approving and adopting the merger agreement, and holders of more than 95% of each of Sevcon’s common stock and Series A convertible preferred stock present at the meeting voted in favor of a charter amendment to confirm the consideration to be paid to preferred stockholders in the merger. Subject to satisfaction or waiver of all other conditions, the closing of the acquisition is expected to occur on or about September 27, 2017.
