In a Dec. 1 notice, the FDA said the shredded cheese was manufactured by Ohio-based Great Lakes Cheese Co., and was sold in 31 states and Puerto Rico. The recall is rated as "class II" by the FDA, which means the product could "cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences," although the potential for serious injuries is remote. The FDA's notice covers nearly 236,000 cases of low-moisture part-skim mozzarella shredded cheese, which represents the largest portion of the recall. Each case includes between four to 12 bags of cheese. The recall also covers: The products have sell-by dates ranging from January to late March 2026, according to the FDA. Where was the cheese sold?
