Trump . The government agreed to invest $5.7 billion in the firm in return for a roughly 10% ownership. The transaction becomes the U.S. Intel's biggest shareholder and shows that Washington wants to boost chip manufacturing in the U.S.Tan's diplomacy eased tensions with the White House and opened the door for fresh private investments, such as $5 billion from Nvidia and $2 billion from SoftBank. Intel's stock price has gone up over 80% since Tan took over in March. The corporation is restructuring and focusing more on making chips.The deal shows that the government and business are working together more closely, with Intel at the core of America's attempts to get its semiconductor advantage back.
