Their SWA project benefits from DOE support, FAST-41 visibility, pilot testing, and a binding Trafigura offtake tied to future production. Also, East Texas adds meaningful long-term optionality. But note that this remains an earlier-stage project, which is inherently more speculative. SLI's financials also seem relatively solid. The company works in the Smackover Lithium joint venture (JV) with Equinor ( SLI's $826.2M market cap and $673.9M EV are roughly in line with its $715M share of the JV's estimated $1.3B NPV, suggesting fair value. Key risks include federal environmental assessment delays, execution challenges in the JV, and a multi-year cash burn before anticipated 2029 revenue.
