Nvidia shares were up 9.3% on Thursday, following a stellar earnings report on Wednesday that beat expectations. In Asia, investors will take note of April inflation numbers out of Japan, a key metric that could give clues to the Bank of Japan's monetary policy moves. Core inflation — which strips out fresh food and energy — is expected to ease to 2.2% from 2.6% in March, according to economists polled by Reuters. Japan's Nikkei 225 is set to fall, with the futures contract in Chicago at 38,470 and those in and Osaka as 38,450 — against the index's last close of 39,103.22. Futures for the Australian S&P/ASX 200 also point to a weaker open, at 7,759 compared to the last close of 7,811.8. Futures for Hong Kong's Hang Seng index stood at 18,638, pointing to a weaker open compared to the HSI's close of 18,868.71. Overnight in the U.S., the Dow Jones Industrial Average marked its worst session of the year as it slid 1.53%, with aircraft manufacturer Boeing falling 7.6% — the b
