NEW YORK, April 29, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Standard Motor Products, Inc. (NYSE: SMP), an automotive replacement parts manufacturer and distributor, reported today its consolidated financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2020, and provided an update regarding the company's response to the current COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on its business.Consolidated net sales for the first quarter of 2020 were $254.3 million, compared to consolidated net sales of $283.8 million during the comparable quarter in 2019. Earnings from continuing operations for the first quarter of 2020 were $9.6 million or 42 cents per diluted share, compared to $13.1 million or 57 cents per diluted share in the first quarter of 2019.
