SoFi Technologies (NasdaqGS:SOFI) and Mastercard launched a partnership to use SoFiUSD, SoFi's fully reserved U.S. dollar stablecoin, as a settlement option on Mastercard's global payments network. This is the first use of a stablecoin from a U.S. nationally chartered and insured deposit bank in this role. The collaboration is aimed at supporting cross-border remittances, B2B money transfers, and digital asset payments for customers worldwide.
