Sony Group ( NYSE:SONY ) is moving closer to a potential inflection point in its consumer electronics strategy, as the company advances toward a binding agreement to sell a majority stake in its home entertainment business to TCL Electronics Holdings ( TCLHF ). According to people familiar with the matter, the deal could be valued at about $1 billion, with negotiations now at an advanced stage and an announcement possibly coming as soon as this month.
