The U.S. Surgeon General issued a 2024 public health advisory reporting that 48% of parents describe their stress as “completely overwhelming” on a nearly daily basis. Women have been hardest hit, as their post-COVID employment rebound is now reversing course. The labor force participation of women aged 25 to 44 with children under age five fell by 2.8 percentage points from January to June of 2025, marking the steepest mid-year decline in more than four decades, according to The Care Board. New data out of the UCLA Anderson School of Management has identified seven large companies that are committed to making a difference for working parents.
