They said the maker of heavy machinery and road-building equipment faces several challenges to profit growth. “While we remain encouraged by infrastructure spending going forward and this part of the story seems to be playing out, Astec ( ASTE ) hasn't been able to overcome supply chains issues, an increasing competitive landscape and manufacturing issues which have combined to limit margin upside,” Stanley Elliott, analyst at Stifel, said in a May 1 report. Stifel cut its price target on Astec ( ASTE ) to $37 a share from $47 a share previously, based on an estimated enterprise value that's seven times earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization for 2025. Astec ( ASTE ) on Wednesday said its revenue fell 11% from a year earlier to $309.2 million in the first quarter. Its earnings and revenue were less than what analysts on average had estimated.
