President Donald Trump has backed fossil fuels and rolled back clean-energy subsidies, while Europe has eased parts of its environmental rulebook. Global green bond and loan issuance has reached a record $947 billion so far this year, according to Bloomberg Intelligence, as renewable-energy equity benchmarks move toward their first annual gains since 2020 and outperform the S&P 500. Expectations of nearly 4% growth in global electricity demand, driven by artificial intelligence, cooling requirements and electrification, could be reshaping green investments into core infrastructure and industrial opportunities rather than niche ESG allocations.
