The reinsurer's report, "India's economic and insurance market outlook 2026-2030: resilient and rising amid global shifts," attributes this growth to strong macroeconomic fundamentals, regulatory reforms, and increasing consumer demand, particularly in health and motor insurance sectors. India's projected premium growth rate significantly exceeds the approximately 4% expected for China and 2% for the U.S. during the same period, representing a substantial rebound from the slower 3.1% growth seen in 2025 when the market adjusted to new regulations. "We are set to benefit from forward-looking regulatory reform, digital innovation and a disciplined but attractive product mix for consumers," said Amitabha Ray, Swiss Re's market head for India.
