Looser U.S. Emission Standards Do Not Constitute A Buy Case For Stellantis [Seeking Alpha]

This gives credibility to a 2026 positive FCF target. However, U.S. emission rollback is an auto sector tailwind, not a Stellantis-specific catalyst. Ford and GM get the same. I don't think a bull case for STLA has formed yet. After the recent rally, STLA trades roughly in line with Ford and GM on forward P/E while still showing negative/low TTM margins. The old valuation discount has largely disappeared. The one clear edge remains the balance sheet: STLA is the only major automaker with a net cash position and ~$22B of liquidity, giving runway for the turnaround. All in all, I want to see real evidence of better U.S. shipments, pricing, margins and positive free cash flow before a Buy case can be justified for STLA stock.
