IndyCar racing and its owner, 87-year-old Roger Penske, face a huge challenge for what's supposed to be the magical month of May in Indiana. Penske owns the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the site of the Indianapolis 500. He also owns the IndyCar series' leading team, Team Penske. , Penske's racing team got caught in a cheating scandal. Penske driver Josef Newgarden was of his win for the first 2024 IndyCar race in St. Petersburg, Florida. Over Penske's long career as a race-team owner, the businessman-racer was known for looking for an edge. A major example was in 1994, when Penske's team took advantage of a rule change that led to an Indy 500 win for Al Unser Jr. That's par for the course in auto racing.
