On the first day of 2026, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis announced the return of the V8-powered pickup for model year 2027 after a hiatus capped by a “Final Edition” version of the T-Rex in 2024. Now with 75 more horsepower than before, the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is a beast of a truck geared for gearheads. The brand is all in with the updated name, as the last time a Ram pickup wore the SRT badge was in 2006 on the Ram SRT10 That doesn't mean the Ram 1500 RHO , the brand's half-ton pickup powered by a 540-horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane engine, isn't sticking around. In fact, during a recent interview with The Drive , Kuniskis emphasized the RHO is a more practical choice as a daily driver. “If you want to drive this every single day as your only truck, the RHO is a way better option,” he said. “It is an absolutely way, way, way better option.” There are two major reasons he's on target: fuel economy and price.
