LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., June 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Astoria Financial Corporation (NYSE: AF) ("Astoria" or the "Company"), the holding company for Astoria Bank (the "Bank"), today announced the pricing of its underwritten public offering (the "Offering") of $200 million aggregate principal amount of 3.500% Senior Notes due 2020 (the "Notes"). The Company expects to use the net proceeds from the Offering to repay its 5.000% Senior Notes due 2017 and for general corporate purposes. As of March 31, 2017, there was $250 million outstanding under the 5.000% Senior Notes due 2017, which will mature on June 19, 2017. To the extent the proceeds of the Offering are not sufficient to repay the 5.000% Senior Notes due 2017, the Company intends to fund the difference through cash on hand at the time of repayment. The Offering is expected to close on June 8, 2017, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.Sandler O'Neill + Partners, L.P. is acting as the sole book-running manager
