Arconic names former GE exec Blankenship as new CEOArconic (NYSE:ARNC)+1.9% premarket after appointing Chip Blankenship at itsnew CEO, effective Jan. 15, and John Plant as Chairman, effective immediately.Blankenship is a 24-year veteran of General Electric, and has spent much of his career in the company's aviation and jet engine businesses, including running GE's Aviation’s Commercial Engines Operation.David Hess, who has served as ARNC’s interim CEO since April, will remain CEO until Blankenship begins his tenure and will continue to serve on the board.Plant, an ARNC director since 2016, succeeds Pat Russo, who was named interim Chair in April.See all stocks on the move »
