Egalet's abuse-deterrent extended-release oxycodone successful in late-stage back pain study; shares ahead 9% premarketEgalet (NASDAQ:EGLT) is up9% premarket on robust volume in response to itsannouncement of positive results from a Phase 3 clinical trial evaluating Egalet-002 for the treatment of patients with moderate-to-severe chronic low back pain.The study met its primary endpoint of a statistically significant reduction in pain intensity from baseline to week 16 versus placebo (pEgalet-002 incorporates the company'sGuardian Technology which uses injection molding to create a hard matrix designed to make the pill difficult to crush, grind, chew or dissolve.
