The small-cap benchmark, the Russell 2000, traded higher by more than one percent on Tuesday, trading up and through its 50-day moving average, which has kept a lid on the index for the last month. The stocks that are leading the breakout are below. Similar breakthroughs of that key moving average in October and December heralded future gains for the Russell 2000. Small-cap leaders today included many energy-related companies, which rebounded as the price of crude went positive for 2015.
