Summary Six months ago MannKind (NASDAQ: MNKD ) was getting ready to take over the sales of Afrezza from Sanofi (NYSE: SNY ) and was heralding the virtues of a smaller 100% dedicated sales force, regional efforts with high volume prescribers, and developing a focus on a more narrow segment of the market. The company had indicated that it had learned a lot from the previous launch, had initiated corrective measures, and should see success. MannKind even touted an "EPIC" turnaround story that would be the talk of Wall Street. Six months later we are seeing that the dedicated sales force is having no more success than the non-dedicated force. We are seeing that a more narrow market focus is not leading creating enough converts, and the high prescribing doctors do not seem to be able to convince many people to try the drug or worse yet, keep people on the drug once they switch.
