EU clears $11.9B Discovery/Scripps deal after Polish concessionDiscovery Communications (DISCA+2.6%) has gottenconditional EU approval for its $11.9B buyout of Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI+0.9%).The two companies agreed to make Polish news channel TVN24 available to distributors, for a reasonable fee for seven years, after it was identified as "crucial" to retail TV offerings.The EU saw limited overlap between the two companies in the UK but that Discovery would have heavy bargaining power taking over TVN.In giving the conditional OK, the EU rejected a request from Poland to refer the matter to the Polish competition authority.See all stocks on the move »Now read:Antifragility, Path Dependency, And Value Investing (Part 1) »
