3 min read In this article JPMorgan Chase has upgraded shares of Suncor Energy ( SU.TO SU ), while downgrading rival Canadian oil producer Cenovus Energy ( CVE.TO CVE In a note to clients on Tuesday, the U.S. investment bank predicts 2026 will be a year marked by large surpluses and downward pressure on prices. Their analysts see global supply rising by 1.1 million barrels per day (MMBo/d) in 2026, following a 2.6 MMBo/d increase in 2025. Meanwhile, they forecast demand will rise by just 900,000 barrels per day in both 2026 and 2027. While benchmark oil prices may face more pressure after a tough 2025, JPMorgan analyst Arun Jayaram says shares of North American integrated oil producers will continue their strong performance.
