after dipping earlier on Friday, with short-end yields hitting multi-year highs after a hot U.S. inflation report this week put monetary policy outlooks in both countries firmly in the spotlight. The strong inflation reading on Wednesday had investors paring back bets for when the Federal Reserve will first cut interest rates and the yen languishing at a 34-year low against the dollar. U.S. Treasury yields surged in response to the data, and JGB yields, which tend to track their U.S. peers, rose to multi-year highs on Thursday. While the market had calmed since the previous session, expectations have strengthened for another rate hike this year in Japan, said Katsutoshi Inadome, a senior strategist at Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Asset Management.
