Hungary will probably cut rates by 75 basis points to 8.25%, a Bloomberg survey indicated, after recent sharp forint weakness. The currency firmed 0.2% against the euro, and strengthened as much as 0.4% versus the dollar ahead of the rate decision. Nigeria meanwhile is could raise interest rates by 125 basis points to 24%, a Bloomberg poll of economists showed. The naira which was devalued last month for the second time since June has been firming in recent days on expectations of higher interest rates. Nigerian eurobonds were among the top twenty performers on Tuesday, benefiting from the central bank's apparent resolve to crush inflation and attract investment. Sri Lanka on the other hand unexpectedly renewed its monetary easing cycle to support a rebound in the economy after inflation eased for the first time in five months.
