Teladoc Health Inc. , which makes technology to support online doctor visits, said Tuesday that activity had doubled in the past month as COVID-19 spread across the globe, and shares jumped higher in late trading. "As a result of the global outbreak of COVID-19, Teladoc Health has experienced an unprecedented surge in demand for its services," the company said in a news release. "The company is now routinely providing in excess of 20,000 virtual medical visits per day in the United States, representing an increase of over 100% as compared to the first week of March." Teladoc also released preliminary financial results for the first quarter, reporting that revenue grew to between $180 million and $181 million from $128.6 million a year ago. The company had projected first-quarter revenue of $169 million to $172 million, and analysts on average were expecting $172.1 million, according to FactSet. The company expects to divulge full first-quarter results on April 29. Shares rose about 7%
