Getty Images U.K. department store retailer Marks & Spencer is heading back to America for a second attempt to crack the U.S. market, this time in partnership with Nordstrom The British retailer has just launched a selected capsule of womenswear in 30 Nordstrom stores across the U.S., alongside a wider online rollout, marking the first time its fashion has been sold in physical American retail. Around 60 pieces have made the cut, drawn from Marks & Spencer's core ranges including its fashion-foreard Per Una label, in a tightly edited offer designed to test the market. It's a notable shift in tone from past attempts. Marks & Spencer has clearly not forgotten its previous U.S. misadventures when it exited the market more than two decades ago after failing to gain traction, and this re-entry is deliberately lower risk, built on wholesale partnerships rather than standalone stores.
