Philadelphia Insurance Companies' Grant Funded the PHLY250Sakura Initiative and Honored a 100-Year-Old Gift from the Government of Japan PHILADELPHIA April 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia (JASGP) together with Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY) completed the PHLY250Sakura cherry blossom tree planting initiative, which was a pledge by both organizations to plant 250 cherry blossom trees in Philadelphia by 2026 to commemorate America's semiquincentennial (250th) anniversary. The Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia (JASGP) together with Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY) completed the PHLY250Sakura cherry blossom tree planting initiative, which was a pledge by both organizations to plant 250 cherry blossom trees in Philadelphia by 2026 to commemorate America's semiquincentennial (250th) anniversary.
