The automaker said worldwide vehicle sales fell 1.9% year over year to about 966K units, marking its first annual decline in nearly a year. China was the biggest drag. Sales there slid 12.1% to roughly 154K vehicles, hurt by the end of subsidy programs, shoppers delaying purchases amid policy uncertainty, and ongoing model transitions, including changes to popular nameplates like the RAV4.
